Health Canada has issued a Canadian Medical Device License to Agfa HealthCare, authorizing the company to sell its Computed Radiography (CR) Mammography system in Canada. The announcement was made at the November RSNA 2007 exhibition.
Agfa HealthCare's CR Mammography systems provide a solution for moving from analog to digital mammography. Systems such as the CR 85-X, for example, can be configured to support mixed use between mammography and general radiology for seamlessly integrated digital mammography and general radiography workflows. Facilities can also use their existing analog X-ray modalities for maximum affordability. Agfa HealthCare's CR Mammography systems are available for sale in Canada from today onwards.
